Crisp days, golden hues and cosy evenings - why we love autumn

As the season changes to cooler days and longer nights, there’s still lots to enjoy during an autumn stay at Stratford Parks.

Muddy Oar internalBeautiful golden autumn colours are abundant throughout the park, enjoy a stroll along the riverbank and kick up the leaves as you go. Then retreat to The Muddy Oar Bar & Lounge to enjoy a warming hot chocolate or something a little stronger! Our autumn specials menu includes pork belly with a wholegrain mustard mash, halloumi burger on a beetroot brioche bun and a delectable sticky toffee pudding for afters.

Fancy a spot of fishing? We have over a mile and a half of private fishing so wrap up warm and take some time out to cast your rod in the Avon. Autumn is an especially productive time of year for catching larger Chub or Barbel.

The October half term sees a host of fun Halloween activities for the whole family to enjoy. Come and pumpkin carvingmarvel at the fantastic fireworks on Friday 25th October which will light up the sky at 8pm followed by live music from Matchbox (AKA Amy). Food will be available outside from 7pm including Fish and Chips, Braised Chilli Beef Burritos and Vegetarian Chilli Burritos and the chalet will be serving beer, mulled cider, toffee apples and hot chocolate.

On Saturday 26th October we want to see your scary costumes! Get dressed up to join in the fun – we’ll have a pumpkin carving competition, face painting, haunted house experience and fancy dress competition for children and adults. To end the day Olly Murs Tribute Act, Davey Stuart, will perform at 6pm followed by The Playlist Band at 9.30pm.  Find out more on our Facebook page.

There are also some great local events this autumn including deer walks at Charlecote Park where you can experience deer rutting season, Fright Nights at Kenilworth Castle, Museums at Night House Party on Henley Street, and a Contemporary Arts Festival in Stratford to name just a few.
